Guyana's economic performance for first half of 2011 exceptional compared to the same period last year.

Guyana’s economy has performed exceptionally well during the first half of 2011 compared to last year with improvements in the sugar and rice sectors. Finance Minister, Dr. Ashni Singh expressed this sentiment while briefing the media on Monday.

Dr. Singh notes that bauxite production is picking up, with similar results in the non-traditional sectors.

The Finance Minister says a data gathering exercise on the economy’s performance in the first half is ongoing to give the true picture.

He notes that with the favorable performance of the largest economy earners, rice and sugar, the country’s aggregate performance will be enhanced.

  1. Christopher Ram nor Ramesh Seebarran (both crooks in the Guyana Lawn Tennis Association) wouldn't like to hear that. These savages dislike anyone forming a critical opinion of them because these two culprits are shutting down websites that expose their activities. That isn't democracy. Propaganda Press was very harsh in digitally attacking the PPP Government but the PPP valued democracy and the freedom of the Guyana Constitution. But it was Ravendra Ram and Ramesh Seebarran who paid a lawyer to sue Propaganda Press becuase someone commented about them. Talk about reliving the PNC era. Someone should expose Chris Ram and Ramesh Seebarran.
