Hamilton Green gives himself & councillors 33%

-City Council workers get 8%

In what has been deemed an act of indecency, Georgetown Mayor Hamilton Green and several of his colleagues from the PNC voted themselves a 33% increase in salary even as the cash strapped City council remains uncertain whether its employees will be paid for the month of December.
The motion was met with strong protest from the PPP/C councillors who derided the Mayor for this act and questioned whether the council is in a position to pay the increases.
