Freddie Kissoon proposes a man he once described as a criminal for Speaker of the House.

A letter Kissoon wrote in 2003 accusing Hughes
of criminal impropriety

Controversial Kaieteur News columnist Freddie Kissoon and former treason accused Mark Benschop are proposing that attorney Nigel Hughes be considered for Speaker, while saying that the opposition APNU and AFC need to move beyond the current nominees that have brought them to an impasse.

This sudden u-turn by Kissoon we find very shocking given that in a 2003 letter he accused Hughes of criminal impropriety when the latter removed evidence from a Buxton crime scene. Kissoon felt that Hughes should've been prosecuted and accused him of tampering with the tape which could've helped to identify a gunman who murdered the owner of a gas station in that village.
One wonders what might have brought about this new disposition towards Hughes but then we remember that Kissoon is noted for many such moves. In 2003 he wrote an article in which he described his new found friend, Mark Benschop as a power thirsty, rank opportunist who was at the time a central figure behind the Buxton gang of gunmen dubbed 'Freedom Fighters'.
