Yesterday Guyanese across country came together in a spirit that truly emulated the nation’s motto, ‘One People, One Nation, One Destiny’, as they made merry on Easter Monday.
The Easter Monday preparations began, across the country, in the early morning as persons started setting up booths along the sea-walls for the usual sea-wall lime and kite flying.

Others prepared picnic baskets for an outing with the family, as is customary with most households, while others completed the final works on kites and others fiddled with additional small touches to make the day great.
These colourful and creative designs filled the skies everywhere as the brilliant sunny weather yesterday lent its glory to the day’s activities.
With the many activities the children, in particular, seemed to enjoy the fun and frolic as they were even part of kite flying competitions that were held at various places across the country.
Love to see Guyanese coming together and enjoying themselves. Easter also brings out the creativity in persons who venture to design their own kites which adds spectacular to the kite flying and sometimes even grabs prizes for their hard work and fancy design.
