AFC must state for its supporters how it managed to pay Dick Morris $100M!

In a manner similar to their call for the Prime Minister to list for the National Assembly the names and salaries of all of the advisers for head of state President Bharrat Jagdeo, the AFC should state for its supporters and citizens of Guyana how it managed to afford the services of U.S pollster and political consultant, Dick Morris during the elections campaign of 2006. They should also state his salary since it is by no means a small sum.

Morris had been labeled as one of the biggest tax delinquents in his home state of Connecticut, owing an estimated $280,000 in unpaid taxes and a total of $452,367 in unpaid taxes and fees. In 2003 the IRS filed a $1.5 million tax lien against him. Morris said that he has reached an agreement with Connecticut and his name will be removed from the next delinquency list. Morris says that he is committed to paying his taxes: "Following a difficult period in my life, I fell into arrears. But since then, I have paid almost $3 million in state and federal taxes."

It came as no surprise to us after we learned through sources close to AFC Chairman Khemraj Ramjattan that the AFC paid Morris in excess of US$500,000 (GY$100M). The question on the lips of all in the know-how is; how was the then newly formed AFC able to raise such a sum?

  2. Simply put, the AFC is a creature of the previous conservative US state department. In this regard, neither Ramjattan nor Trotman can call themselves patriots. They sold out and chose to do the bidding of Bush. The 100 million came from the sale of narcotics.
