Nigel Hughes absent from the AFC list. Why?

The list of candidates to contest the upcoming general elections submitted by the opposition Alliance for Change (AFC) has one notable absence, that of cocaine Lawyer, Nigel Hughes.
The question on the lips of everyone is why did the AFC leave out one of its notable members who at one time was very vocal on the party's campaign trail.

Our source inside Campbellville told us that concerns were expressed within diplomatic circles about Hughes' association with US wanted drug trafficker Bramanand Nandalall and the AFC felt that it could be used against the party. Further Hughes' was asked to take a backseat and this was after he addressed party rallies in Linden and Buxton. His wife Cathy, an employee of Makeshwar 'Fip' Motilall is on the list however.
