Prominent New York businessman hosts successful PPP fund raising event

Mr. Donald Ramotar with PPP well-wishers Mr. and Mrs. Chucky Okfur in New York over the weekend.

PROMINENT New York businessman Bhola Ramsundar and his lively wife, Debbie, hosted a successful fund raising event for the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) at their home in Queens, New York last Saturday evening. It was well attended by PPP supporters and well-wishers from all walks of life. Bhola is a long-standing supporter of the PPP. He hails from Port Mourant, that famous plantation that gave Guyana two of its most illustrious sons: Dr. Cheddi Jagan and Rohan Kanhai.
The event was graced by the presence of President Bharrat Jagdeo and the PPP’s Presidential Candidate for the 2011 elections Mr Donald Ramotar. Also in attendance were the Honourable Ministers Robert Persaud, Jennifer Westford, Manniram Prashad and Irfan Alli.

Many of the attendees were thrilled with the opportunity to enjoy a ‘Kodak moment’ with President Jagdeo and Mr. Ramotar. Perhaps, the most impressive feature of the evening was the versatility demonstrated by Mr. Ramotar
He fielded numerous questions and participated in several discussions on a wide range of topics that included the continued expansion of Guyana’s economy, the state of international affairs, the Guyana-Venezuela border dispute, the implications of strengthening the Guyana dollar and, of course, his vision for Guyana.

In thanking Mr and Mrs Ramsundar for hosting the event, ‘The Donald’, as he was affectionately referred to, pledged to continue the outstanding work of President Bharrat Jagdeo. The overwhelming consensus of opinion during the evening was that in voting for Mr. Donald Ramotar in the upcoming general elections, the Guyana electorate will be electing the best candidate for President.
