Dispute with Brazilian led to attempted arson of building owned by Oliver Hinckson

A container with gasoline apparently used in
the attack

The attempted arson of a building owned by ex Guyana Defence Force Lieutenant, Oliver Hinckson was not politically motivated. This is according to Hinckson himself who claimed that he has no political altercations with anyone and also that he has not been involved in politics for a while.
Hinckson said he learnt that one of the tenants might have been threatened with arson by a Brazilian during an altercation about a cellular phone. Liveinguyana understands that the tenant declined to go down to the scene although he was called several times. He also did not open his business for days prior to the attack and was seen quite recently seated in his car parked outside his business.
The building is located on Cummings Street just north of Regent Street.
