Protesters picket 5th One Day Int. Call for WICB resignation among other things

Picketers outside the Providence Stadium today

Over two hundred picketers today converged just outside the Guyana Providence Stadium where the 5th One Day Int was being played in the DIGICEL series comprising West Indies and Pakistan. They vented their frustrations on the treatment by the West Indies selectors and board officials of Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Chris Gayle and Ramnaresh Sarwan.
Calls were made for the immediate reinstatement of the players, some of whom alleged that they were dropped for non-cricketing reasons.
In a letter addressing the CEO of the WICB, Chanderpaul revealed that he's being forced out of the game by selectors and officials.
Chanderpaul averages 48 in Test Matches and 41 in One Day internationals and was rated "Cricketer of the year" in 2009 by Wisden.
