Wakapoa, Akawini pledge support to PPP Presidential candidate, Donald Ramotar

AMERINDIANS of Wakapoa and Akawini have endorsed Mr. Donald Ramotar as the Presidential Candidate of the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) and pledged their full support to him and at the upcoming general elections. The villagers expressed their support for Ramotar and the PPP at community meetings last Saturday at Wakapoa and Thursday at Akawini.
Leading member of the PPP at Front View, Akawini, Ms. Annette Williams said all residents of her community are very proud to be associated with the ruling party.
She said Ramotar will be a very good leader of the country and would continue the development drive started by the late Father of the Nation, Dr. Cheddi Jagan and continued by President Bharrat Jagdeo.
Williams, who is a farmer, said the current Administration has done well, as there is development everywhere across the country.
She said Ramotar is loved by all Akawini residents and, being General Secretary of the PPP, he is the best person for the position of President of Guyana.
Meanwhile, some Amerindians, who live very far from Charity, on Essequibo Coast, said the government has invested in their community and brought them into the national development spotlight.
At Wakapoa, Mr. Leslie Walters, Mr. Clifford Fredericks, Ms. Jean Perreira, Mr. Maurice Stoll and Mr. Winston Richards are among those who gave their pledge to support the PPP and Ramotar as its Presidential Candidate.
Walters expressed confidence that Ramotar will continue in the footsteps of the late Presidents, Cheddi Jagan and Janet Jagan and current President Jagdeo and take Guyana into the industrial arena.
Walters said the party has a strong base at Wakapoa and every resident is supportive of Ramotar at the upcoming elections.
