I hope the AFC/PNC's boycott of Parliament is also extended to the eating area!

Most times when these Opposition parties boycott Parliament they still turn up to eat their fair share of food.

I hope we have a total boycott this time round.

  1. Despite the Global financial crisis, Guyana's economy has fared very well thus far given the challenges that we have faced amidst rising commodity prices. Guyana continues to positively move forward. But in order to fully evaluate these strides, we need to understand some aspects of the abysmal economic and social baseline inherited by the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) in 1992. A lot has been made of the closure of businesses. But very little attention is given to the number of new businesses operating and the number of existing businesses expanding. The new businesses and expansions mean that people still perceive the economy to have a favorable business climate.

  2. While some positive economic signs via the opening of new businesses and expansions, are clear for all to see, let’s understand the damage inflicted on the economy in the sense of how much more it could have grown. One factor that is in our favour is that our economy is not integrated with those that have affected by the crisis.

  3. The management of the economy has led to continued support from international financial agencies. While economies across the hemisphere and globe were collapsing, Guyana 's remained on the growth path and its currency stayed stable. The effective fiscal and monetary policies reflected in the current state of the economy are indisputable.

  4. I say let's take it to a referendum and let the people decide if they want Jagdeo to be terminated while running for the Presidency again. If the opposition continues to claim that Guyana is no democracy, this scenario presents an opportune time to test our democracy; problem is , that the opposition would not be happy with this democracy.

  8. Many on this forum have assumed the role as representatives of the PNC, who are bent on criticizing the police force instead of helping them. You should spend your time in a more constructive manner playing your part in eradicating the criminals who the PPP seems hell bent on supporting.
