APNU launch is actually a celebration of David Granger's 66th Birthday

-Granger shares same birth date with former Argentinian dictator and mass murderer

Leopoldo Galtieri, David Granger and Forbes Burnham

The official launch of A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) which was initially slated for July 8th was pushed back to coincide with the birthday of its presidential candidate and PNC strongman David Granger. Observers have noted this as a display of traits similar to Granger's former boss and mentor Forbes Burnham who coincided Republic Day celebrations with his February 20th birth date. It is also interesting to note that former Argentine dictator, Leopoldo Galtieri also shares the same birth date with Granger.
During Galtieri's rule Congress was suspended, unions, political parties and provincial governments were banned, and in what became known as the "Dirty War" between 9,000 and 30,000 people deemed left-wing "subversives" disappeared from society. Torture and mass executions were both commonplace.
