Granger's nomination as the PNC Presidential candidate presents a problem for the AFC

David Granger's nomination as the PNC Presidential candidate presents a problem for the AFC.
Why?
Because Granger has the capacity to galvanize the PNC support base and if he appoints a running mate that further solidifies this base it means that those Afro Guyanese voters who deserted the PNC for the AFC in 2006 will be returning home to the PNC in 2011. We can anticipate that Granger will make it a top priority to get them to return to the fold. Can the AFC withstand such an onslaught?

Further, while Trotman is still the titular head of the AFC and has committed to campaign strongly for his party, it now appears that the fact that he did not accept the AFC Prime Ministerial candidacy was specifically intended to help Granger's cause.

  1. So the AFC member will definitely have to look for new activities to get since Granger position is threatening to them.

  2. SO by a long shot this mean that the AFC time as a political party is over.
