Khemraj Ramjattan & Deborah Backer have not paid deducted employee contributions to NIS.

The National Insurance Scheme (NIS) was forced on Sunday last to publish in the print media the names of employers who are indebted to the company. These persons would've deducted the necessary monies from the salary of those under their employ in other to make the necessary payments on their behalf but have so far failed to do so.

What is both shameful and surprising though is the fact that appearing on the very list are two senior Opposition figures who both practice Law. One such being the AFC 2011 Presidential candidate, Khemraj Ramjattan and the other PNCR MP, Deborah Backer.
This incident exposes the double standards of these individuals since they both have professed on more than one occasions to have the interest of the NIS and its beneficiaries at heart.
